Research lines:

Local regulation (calcium sparks) of cardiac and vascular ryanodine receptor activity in metabolic alterations (i.e. metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, hyperthyroidism). Functional role of sorcin-ryanodine receptor interaction under normal and pathological conditions. Identification of sorcin gene polymorphisms linked to hypertension in the Mexican population.
